While attending the SAP TechEd conference in Bangalore last quarter, I realized that SAP’s roadmap for the next-gen technology emphasizes machine learning and artificial intelligence as key pieces needed to revolutionize the enterprise space.
It all started with the first release version of SAP Fiori in 2013. In order to give it a more natural and personalized user experience for SAP applications, SAP introduced a configurable and easy to use chatbot known as SAP CoPilot in 2018.
Trust me, implementing a chatbot has never been so easy. SAP CoPilot offers a cutting-edge alternative to the more traditional chatbot frameworks available in the market. It is simple to develop, easy to configure and completely scalable.
A quote from SAP’s website says: “SAP CoPilot enables a humanized user experience for your SAP applications. Get your work done in the context of your business data. You can create business objects and perform transactions through conversation. Use it anywhere – on your mobile device or in an SAP application.”
Some of the key benefits of SAP CoPilot are:
- Work more efficiently – Create business objects quickly and use pre-populated information drawn from business applications for maximum efficiency.
- Maintain continuity of work – Experience a smooth transition across channels to complete tasks without interrupting your workflow.
- Customize to your business -Build and augment skills for your SAP CoPilot to fulfill the needs of your business model.

The only challenge I see with this product is the missing availability in the trial version of the SAP Cloud Platform. Today, you can build your own SAP CoPilot skills if you have SAP CoPilot integrated with an SAP S/4HANA on-premise system with release 1809 or higher.
