These rules below refer to the general use of uppercase/lowercase and county-specific characters. For capitalization of screen texts at SAP see the respective rules.

 

Guidelines

Upper/Lowercase

Use lower and uppercase letters. Do not use uppercase letters as design elements to highlight headers or other elements.

Example

  • Good: Software ergonomics is an interdisciplinary science
  • Bad: SOFTWARE ERGONOMICS IS AN INTERDISCIPLINARY SCIENCE

Country-Specific Characters

Use country-specific characters, for example, the umlaut and ß in German.

Example

  • Good: Möhren ärgern Spaßvögel übrigens nie
  • Bad: Moehren aergern Spassvoegel uebrigens nie
