Intro

You can forward an object to another user for further investigation. The object will be forwarded to the recipient’s worklist. Depending on the context, you can forward one or several objects.

Use the forward pattern if you would like to forward an object to another user for further investigation.

Layout

The forward function can be accessed in the details footer (for split screen), in the app footer bar (for full screen) and in the master list footer. If the user switches the master list to multiselection mode, several objects can be sent to one recipient.

Use the text Forward to label the action button. Do not use an icon.

This section describes the interaction flow for the sender and the recipient.

Clicking the Forward button takes the user to a value help dialog (select dialog).

One or more recipients can be selected. There are use cases (in certain workflows) where there is already a predefined set of recipients. In these cases, the Forward dialog contains the list of predefined recipients, while still allowing the users to search for others.

A dialog appears (message box) after the recipients have been selected. It displays the message: Forward <object name/ID> to <first name second name>?

There is also an entry field for the user to optionally send a note to the recipient. This entry field displays the message text: Add note (optional).

After confirming the dialog by clicking OK, a success message (message toast) appears.

Additionally, the number of entries in the master list is reduced (in this example from 10 to 9).

Interaction Flow Receiver

The object is forwarded to the recipient’s worklist. The object header shows that the object has been forwarded by a certain person. The respective note is attached (optional).
