On Friday, October 13th, we welcomed nearly 100 participants from over 50 SAP partners to Walldorf for our 5th Partner Info Day containing a full-load of user experience news and highlights. After a quick coffee and mingling, the day started off with an excellent keynote, a thought-provoking presentation on artificial intelligence titled, Of Machines and Men, followed up by a great overview, demo, and roadmap on the SAP CoPilot.

During lunch, the attendees discussed the morning’s keynotes and were given the opportunity to browse the three UX info booths featuring Beacon – the SAP Fiori Information Experience, the SAPUI5 Demo Kit, and Virtual Reality in the Enterprise. Each of the booths were lively with discussion, informative Q&A sessions with the experts, and lots of positive feedback.

“The [SAPUI5 Demo Kit] structure is very intuitive.”

“The [SAPUI5 Demo Kit] look and feel is very nice.”

“I wouldn’t have expected such innovation coming out of SAP.” [VR in the Enterprise]

“[Seeing the Air Traffic Control demo in VR] I now for the first time understand the potential of IoT.”

“[Seeing UI5 screens in VR] It was surprising how easy it is to provide UI5 screens in a virtual reality experience.“

“The info pods were very good – I wish I could have spent more time at each!”

The Beacon info booth, in particular, attracted attention as it gave partners insights into new learning content around SAP Fiori. Together with the attendees, the Beacon team validated learning topics and received great feedback about additional topics for the future. There was a good and in-depth exchange between the Beacon team and the partners with the option to work together closely in the future.

“Beacon is a super idea! I would like to subscribe and would love to have a way to interact with you!”

“I’d love to have Fiori-related learning content available in one place.”

The second portion of the event was strategically split into four tracks: Innovation, Design, Development, and Implementation. Within each track were three individual breakout sessions covering all the latest UX topics (Design-led Development, UI5 Evolution, SAP Cloud Platform Experience Maker services — a brand new UX offering which features SAP Fiori, Portal, and Mobile services, Fiori Elements, SAP Fiori Cloud, Project E-Quill, and many more). The presentations provided were very well-balanced and catered to a variety of audiences (C-level to designer to developer). While this structure was a great way to cover a lot of topic areas without compromising on time, many attendees had trouble deciding which sessions to attend, as all contained new and exciting updates.

“It is always hard to choose a session when there are two great ones running in parallel.”

To close the event, there was an engaging presentation on the Leonardo Innovation Approach and the power and importance of Design Thinking. Each of the attendees were also provided with a feedback form to vote for the specific topics they would like to learn more about in the future as well as in which format they would appreciate most (webinar, workshop, training).

The UX Partner Info Day was not only very well attended, but also very well received. A big thank you to everyone who joined us and for all of the excellent feedback! It was a great day!

“I attended TechEd Las Vegas only a few weeks ago, but this event still gave me a lot of great information.”

“It’s nice to have the information presented [specifically] for partners.”

“It is hard to say what to improve as everything was on a very high level – showing innovation (VR/AR, E-Quill), pods to “touch”, very good catering – thanks a lot to the team of organizers!”

“Great to gain this information, which you can’t get anywhere else.”

“Best info day ever!”
