On May 15th of last year, Apple® and SAP announced a groundbreaking partnership to revolutionize the mobile work experience for enterprise customers of all sizes. The goals of the partnership were to combine powerful native apps for the iPhone® and iPad® with the cutting-edge capabilities of the SAP Cloud platform and transform how these mobile devices are used in the enterprise.

The latest Apple Tech Talk video podcast series focuses on what Apple and SAP have created for developers: the SAP Cloud Platform SDK for iOS, the Fiori for iOS design language, and the SAP Academy for iOS to rapidly build native apps for iOS with Swift. The new series aims to show developers how to get started and share best practices about building a native iOS app with the toolkit.

The podcasts in this Tech Talk series are:

  1. SAP: Introduction (5 min)
  2. SAP:  Introducing the SAP Cloud Platform SDK for iOS (3 min)
  3. SAP: Getting started with the SAP Cloud Platform SDK for iOS (7 min)
  4. Keytree: Developing apps with the SAP Cloud Platform SDK for iOS (8 min)

There’s never been a better time for developers to build iOS apps that integrate with SAP Cloud Platform. With the SAP Cloud Platform SDK for iOS, developers can easily take advantage of a company’s aggregated data held in the SAP Cloud Platform and other enterprise systems. iOS apps can also tap into the services and functions defined in the SAP Cloud Platform, and include specific business and security rules to protect sensitive data. With one of the key building blocks of the SDK, developers can access native iOS frameworks and technologies to build incredible apps. This means that apps can take advantage of the latest interface technologies and build-in sensors to provide the context and experience that users expect.
