Congratulations! SAP was awarded with an honourable mention from the Design Management Europe Award (DME) for outstanding strategic design activities. The submission of the Design and Co-Innovation Center (DCC) from SAP successfully convinced a jury of design management experts by demonstrating the integration of design strategy in SAP’s management processes.
Since 2007, the DME has been awarded to companies for excellent implementations of strategic design, driving forward innovation and creative business solutions. With this focus, the DME is the only international award which is dedicated to design competencies in the areas of product, service, communication, and brands. Past winners have included well-known companies, such as Heineken, Procter & Gamble, and LEGO.
In the application process, international private, public, and non-profit organizations received the opportunity to hand in their submissions including a self-designed award poster (find the submissions here). According to the submission guidelines, the poster should illustrate how design is incorporated in the company’s management strategies, thereby presenting its impact and the enterprise key principles.
Tobias Haug, Mauro Rego, and Laurent Pollefoort solved this task by presenting the principles of the Design and Co-Innovation Centers of SAP which were founded to support the adoption, interpretation, and enablement of software design through co-innovation with customers.
