Thank you to all the customers and partners that provided your ideas for SAP Screen Personas 3.0 SP6. Our new release, generally available as of December 15, 2017, now provides the ability to run flavors on iPads, Android tablets, and other mobile devices.

SAP Screen Personas 3.0 SP6 includes an all-new component, Slipstream Engine, which enables mobile rendering. This has been a long-standing request from our customers and partners. The ability to render flavors on desktops, tablets, and phones extends the Fiori user experience to more customers across more scenarios, in both SAP S/4HANA and older ECC systems.

Business analysts, designers, and developers can now develop Fiori-inspired flavors (or their own designs) in SAP Screen Personas that are optimized for mobile devices. Instead of rewriting the business logic to create a new Fiori app, you can quickly and easily simplify existing SAP GUI transactions using SAP Screen Personas, to provide new, more intuitive functionality to your users. The Slipstream Engine renders these flavors on tablets and phones.

If you need to create an application for which the business logic does not exist, you should build a custom Fiori app. SAP provides several tools such as Build, Web IDE, SAP Cloud Platform, and the Apple iOS SDK for doing this.

In addition to the new Slipstream Engine, SAP Screen Personas 3.0 SP6 also includes several other exciting new features:

  • The script editor can run in a stand-alone window. This improves productivity when creating scripts as you have access to the full transaction screen and a full scripting window.
  • A new administration transaction is easier to use. You have a better user experience and more capability to manage flavors, roles, themes, quick styles, and system health.
  • SAP Screen Personas now supports BDT. If you use BDT (Business Data Toolkit) screens, you can now streamline them with SAP Screen Personas.

This is going to be a game changer for sure. Already tried many flavors on saplaps’ test servers, looks great!!! This is the future of SAP UX. But one thing is still not so clear, how I can feed input through camera scanning ? Do I need to write script for that? Or any other function introduced to scan bar/QR codes? I saw bluestoneUX demo.
