Topic 21: Integrated Intelligent Suite-SAP’s Solutions for Small and Midsize Enterprises: Process Map

Experience the next-generation intelligence access and application navigation concept. The process and application map provides a generic view of the business processes and helps users to monitor the status of work at each step.

Description In our usability test we will focus on the quick and easy navigation through the sales, purchasing, and the financials processes in the SAP Business ByDesign solution. We are looking for your feedback on how the process map can support you in your daily work.
Role/s All kinds of users working with any of SAP’s ERP solutions, such as SAP Business ByDesign, SAP S/4HANA Cloud, and others, can test the process map. Technical and functional consultants having experience working with business user roles such as operational purchasers, purchase managers, sales representatives, service agents, financial accountants, or managers would be a perfect match.
Previous Experience Having experience using an ERP system is a must; being experienced in sales, purchasing or financials would be beneficial.
Preview For the sales and purchasing processes, the maps display the relevant process steps in the sequence in which they occur. By indicating your possible next steps, the maps support you in fulfilling your concrete tasks quickly and efficiently.

For a chosen process step, the process map serves different purposes:

  • It provides direct access to the documentation.
  • It allows you to perform the action associated with the process step. You can either directly create objects or go to suitable worklists to perform the action.
  • It indicates how much work is left to be done and thus allows you to quickly judge whether there seem to be bottlenecks for that process step.
  • It provides access to a few selected queries that are related to typical questions you may have regarding that step. They take you to the relevant worklist.
Background Information It’s an innovation to optimize business processes for the end user and to better support model processes during the implementation.

Topic 27: SAP API Management

Description SAP API Management technology helps you share digital assets and enables developer communities to consume these assets in new channels, devices, and user interfaces. Available in the cloud, the technology helps promote co-innovation among employees, partners, and the developer community. To gain better insight about consumer needs, you can empower employees and partners with access to critical information and increase reach to a wider customer base.

SAP API Management facilitates consumer engagement anywhere, any time. It reduces complexity by leveraging a single provisioning platform (API platform) to provide unified access and governance of APIs across a heterogenous landscape.

Role/s
  • API admin – Assigns API developer roles and responsible for admin tasks
  • API developer – Models an API and applies API management policies
Previous Experience You have used API tools or have experience in building APIs, and you possess basic knowledge of API creation.
Preview You will be testing the next-generation design that will be available for general consumption in a phased manner. We are in the process of redesigning the entire API portal, and you will be experiencing and testing the new designs ahead of general availability. Your feedback will help us refine the concept and improve the product.
Background Information The SAP Cloud Platform Experience Maker service for API management provides one experience for managing and monitoring all APIs across various platforms and is enriched with real-time analytics. This API management service enables consumers to access relevant data directly in a secure manner. Selective data can be exposed while reducing the risk of security breaches. Rather than consuming services directly, application developers access APIs created using the API management service. APIs created using this service map publicly available HTTP end points to back-end services. API management handles the security and authorizations required to protect, analyze, and monitor your services.

Topic 35: SAP S/4HANA® Cloud: Event-Based Solution Monitor

Define the experience of monitoring event-based posting in the cloud and on premise.

Description Event-Based Product Costing Solution supports activities confirmation, goods movements, and technically complete orders. Because other events, like manual posting and allocation, could also post costs on manufacturing orders, we need to ensure that 100% of the costs end up being posted to FI. Because errors may occur in ACDOCP posting or event-based posting, we must also ensure that normal business processes are not stopped, but instead record those errors and offer a chance for the end user to resolve and repost objects.
Role/s The role is for anyone who are responsible product costing, Product costing accountant, GL accountant, Production Supervisor;

Anyone interested in product costing.

Previous Experience You will get experience of our new monitor app, and find it can handle:

  1. Errors might occur during event-based posting. Without stopping the logistic business process, we must record the error, then trigger event-based posting again. A central error list should be provided to the end user as an entrance to check and resolve the error, then trigger a repost to ACDOCP and event-based WIP and variance posting.
  2. The postings that might occur on orders that could not be handled in event-based manner should then be manually triggered.
Background Information Scope item 3F0 (event-based posting solution) with parallel accounting will be activated after the new release in cloud. Event-based posting solution is supported for the business process during production order execution. In order to make sure cost of orders shall be posted correctly per ledger, we develop a program to give customer a chance to handle those errors and to-do tasks.

Previous Experience Deep knowledge and experience of sales order creation and execution will help you to test.
Preview You will be testing the new SAP Fiori app “Create Sales Order.”
Background Information VA01 is a complex transaction, covering all necessary data for sales order with full integration to available-to-promise (ATP), pricing, logistics, and more. Topic 37: Skip the Password with OwnID by SAP

The OwnID by SAP Web application is a free add-on to Web sites and apps that enables passwordless registration and login.

Description Instead of using a password to register and log into Web sites, you use your phone to identify yourself. You’ll experience what it’s like to be password-free.
Role/s None specifically – a person creating an account and logging into Web sites
Previous
Experience
A person who uses the Internet often, with accounts they log into
Preview You will register and then log into a Web site using OwnID. Instead of using
a password, your phone becomes the key to access your account.
Background Information Identity is needed because this is how online services identify us and provide personalized experiences. Currently, for each Web site we use, we need to either create an account – which is cumbersome and requires us to have yet another password – or log in with a social network, which is essentially trading our privacy and identity ownership for convenience. The Internet needs an identity solution that is simple to use, secure, and owned by the person who uses it. Login: https://ownid.com/
