Usability Testing at SAP TechEd Bangalore 2019

Date: November 13-15, 2019
Venue: Bangalore International Exhibition Center
Location: Usability Test Center
Prerequisite: You must be a registered TechEd India Conference Attendee in order to participate in Usability Testing as it happens inside of TechEd in the Exhibition Hall.

What happens during a usability test?

Understanding your needs and the way you work, helps ensure that we build software that is right for your business. During these one-on-one 90 minute sessions you can usability test new and existing software and give your feedback directly to the product teams that build them. It’s a great opportunity to work directly with SAP to help shape the future of SAP products.

Which participant role should I choose?

When you register you will get the option to pick a role as a tester or an observer. A tester actively tests the application while the observer watches the tester navigate through the session. The observer must still be capable of testing the solution as well since roles may be switched onsite. Regardless of the role you choose, feedback from both participants will be collected from the product team. If only one role is available for a given date or time, that means the other role has already been taken.

How many sessions can I sign up for?

We ask that you limit yourself to no more than four sessions to allow other attendees the chance to participate. If product teams need additional information from you in order to qualify your registration for their topic, they will contact you within five business days of your registration.

Why should I sign up now for usability testing instead of waiting until I arrive onsite?

Because choice topics and times fill up quickly. It’s always better to reserve your spot and let us know if you need to change or cancel it. If you wait until you are onsite, you run the risk of the topic being full. Also, if you take too long to register, you might have to wait on-site to see if a spot opens up, so book early. If you do decide to sign up on-site please stop by our Usability Testcenter Registration Desk (Hall 8) and we’ll show you the topics and times that are still available.

If you have any questions about registration or usability testing in general, please send an e-mail to usability.testcenter@sap.com.

Topic 4: Extensibility: Analyze Projects for Unplanned Hours

Would you be interested to know how you can extend a business process in SAP S/4HANA Cloud using extensibility? Here’s your chance to explore and extend an end-to-end professional services business process using extensibility apps.

Description Users of ERP systems usually have a need to extend a standard business process to meet their specific requirements. In SAP S/4HANA Cloud, we realize this by providing extensibility applications, which can be used to extend standard business processes. Extensibility apps enable a user to create custom fields, write custom logic, create custom views and reports, and so on.

In this scenario, we look at how a standard professional services use case can be extended. The time recording process is extended to allow the recording and reporting of unplanned hours.

You have a chance to explore the above process in SAP S/4HANA Cloud during the session.

Role/s
  • Anyone who has a role similar to an IT administrator
  • Anyone who is a project manager, financial controller, business head, or member of an IT team that has implemented an ERP system in an enterprise
Previous Experience General understanding of the time recording process
Preview During this session, the plan is to extend the time recording process by creating custom fields, adapting the SAP Fiori UI, creating a custom model (view), and eventually including it in reporting for a project manager. Extensibility applications, such as custom fields and logic, custom CDS views, and custom analytical query, will be used.
Background Information With SAP S/4HANA Cloud, SAP is providing a new generation of business applications – simple enterprise software for Big Data and agility. In-app extensibility helps you extend your business process, which can be realized by a key user and is upgrade compatible.

Discover the latest offering for accessing and managing business intelligence (BI) reports in our new business intelligence launchpad. It is entirely reshaped, simplified, and modernized based on the latest SAP Fiori user experience.

Description We have completely reimagined the existing BI launchpad to give a delightful and intuitive experience to business users. We identified users’ key pain points in the BI launchpad and simplified the overall experience.

The BI launchpad is the central repository to manage, view, and share BI documents. All types of documents (from SAP Crystal Reports offerings, SAP Lumira software, and SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence software as well as Adobe PDFs and Microsoft Excel worksheets and reports, for example) can be accessed from this one place. We have used the latest SAP Fiori design principles to redesign the launchpad.

With the new BI launchpad, key applications are displayed as tiles in the My Home page with some important KPIs. We are reintroducing new BI workspaces, which can help you manage, understand, monitor, and track your business activities and performance. You can easily incorporate existing content in applications, such as SAP Crystal Reports and SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence. Users can create their own application views while retaining administrative control. They can change the preferences for the launchpad, including publication, creation, and scheduling.

Role/s
