Hi Guys,

I was going through Fiori designs for ios (https://experience.sap.com/fiori-design-ios/), and designs look cool. I just wanted to know if SAP provides any UI elements which could be used to get such designs either as a part of SAPUI5 library or any SAP Native iOS library. Also could you please let me know how these designs fit into Fiori launchpad echo system? to be more elaborate, if our client is using fiori launchpad as an entry point for fiori apps and decides to go with designs as in “Fiori designs for ios” he would end up customizing UI5(style) a lot to achieve such design, is there any other way this could be achieved ?

Regards,

Vijay.

Hi Vijay,

In answer to your questions:

  1.  The iOS UI elements will be provided as part of the upcoming SAP HANA Cloud Platform SDK for iOS
  2.  My impression is that since Fiori apps for iOS are native apps in their own right, they will be independent of the Fiori launchpad concept.  Instead, they should appear on the iOS Home Screen where they are launched from.  That being said, I suppose such apps could be integrated with the Fiori Launchpad concept as follows:
    • A Fiori Launchpad tile could be assigned a mobile URL to launch native Fiori apps on iOS devices
    • The SAP Fiori Client for iOS could be updated to launch apps from the tiles defined above

Regards,

Mustafa.
