Hi Everyone, Greetings!

Is it possible to use/have “Cascading Inputs” in SAP FIORI Filter Bar. (sap.ui.comp.filterbar.FilterBar)?

Thank You, Regards,

Hi Viran,

I’m not entirely sure what you mean by Fiori Table Filter Area. If you are using the filter bar (https://experience.sap.com/fiori-design-web/filter-bar/), you can implement, what we call a “dependent filter”. So if you choose an option of one i.e. select field a sub filter will appear. This does not come as out-of-the-box behaviour but is possible.

This wont work for special filter areas like the header filter in the ALV (https://ux.wdf.sap.corp/fiori-design-web/analytical-table-alv/#filter)

I hope that helps your design.

Hey Till,

Do you have sample check “dependent filter” functionality inside the smart filter bar?

Thanks, All the best.

Hi Viran,

see the attached image. By just selecting a different option for “Timeframe” the next filters are reacting accordingly. If date is chosen, the “date” filter will appear. If you chosse “Date Range”, the “Date” filter will disappear and “From” and “To” filter will appear.

I hope that makes things clearer.

Btw.: The entry in the filters dialog will be handled as one filter “Timeframe” the others cannot be switched on their own.

All the best,

Hey Till, Hope you’re doing great!

Appreciate quick reply. We have a requirement like I mentioned Below.

Ex: Let’s says first input has a VEHICLE BRAND NAME FIELD” and the second input is the model names. If I select Audi from brand input second input should show Audi related models only. And we are using to OData service for populating the data. Hope you got my point

Thanks, All the best.

Hi Viran,

yes that works. Jus re-populate the second field via OData.

Remember to disable the model field at first if you do not provide a default value for the vehicle brand field.
