Does anyone (most likely from SAP) know when the external protototyping kit will be updated with the new controls and new flattened theme? This is currently using the old theme and doesn’t gel well for mockups when you’re demo’ing the new theme already live https://experience.sap.com/fiori-guidelines/FioriDesign/52_Fiori_Design-Prototyping-Kit.html
The prototyping kit will be updated soon.
Thank Sabina. If you let us know when it’s updated, I’ll be sure to amplify the message via Social Media. For reference, I’ve found the previous version really useful for Clients…
As soon as the kit is updated, I will post that a reply to that effect here. Anyone following this conversation, will get a notification as soon as that happens. Thanks for amplifying!
The new prototyping kit is now available! You can download it here: (note from May 6, 2015: the link in this reply has been removed as it pointed to the old prototyping tool in ppt. The new tool in Axure is available here: https://experience.sap.com/fiori-design/resources/downloads). You are welcome to provide us with feedback! Please address your feedback and questions regarding SAP Fiori Design to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Do we also have one available as PSD for designers?
It is only available as a PowerPoint file on the SAP Fiori Guidelines website.
Is there any planned date for the next update of the Prototyping Kit please ? that would be very helpful to have some new UI elements that are not yet in the Kit but available in the SAPUI5 Explored for instance. Thank you.
Hello Pierre-Eric Bouchez,
The launch of the new SAP Fiori Design Guidelines is planned for SAPPHIRE. Therefore, you can expect new design stencils in the next two weeks.
Awesome !! that’s a very good news, thanks a lot 🙂
I’m trying to download the SAP Fiori Prototyping Kit as part of the “Build Your Own SAP Fiori App in the Cloud” course on openSAP.
Hello Aaron D’Cunha,
In meanwhile the SAP Fiori Design Guidelines were updated and the URL changed. Now we offer design stencils exclusively in Axure. You can download them here: https://experience.sap.com/fiori-design/resources/downloads/
Let me know what you think about it and if you have any questions.
Best regards, Sabina
I didn’t know Axure and the possibilities are huge comparing to what we were able to to with the PPT Prototyping Kit !! thank you very much 🙂
I understand from the disclaimer HTML file that if we use Axure only with the “SAP Fiori Design Stencils” library, we have a license of one year that will be renewed for one year each time a new version of the “SAP Fiori Design Stencils” is loaded in Axure. In other words : if we load regularly the latest version of the “SAP Fiori Design Stencils, there is no license fee for a Fiori prototyping usage only.
Is my understanding correct ?
Thanks in advance for your answer.
Hello Pierre-Eric BOUCHEZ,
Great that you like Axure! It’s an amazing tool for prototyping.
Your understanding is correct.
I installed the trial version of Axure and loaded the Fiori Stencils in the widget and it’s really cool and this is exactly what i was looking for. But, the only bottleneck to use this in a productive scenario is the license of Axure. From the terms and conditions, i can see this line – ‘SAP does not grant you any rights to Axure RP. Your use of Axure RP is subject to the terms of your separate License Agreement with Axure Software Solutions, Inc’ . I searched for Axure in SAP SRM shopping portal, but couldn’t find it.
So, is there any way to use the latest wave of this Fiori Stencils widgets without Axure, so that there is no need to purchase Axure license. Kindly let me know.
Great to hear that you like Axure!
I will send you an email regarding Axure within SAP. Everyone else can purchase Axure via their website http://www.axure.com.
Could you please send that email to me as well?
I’m also interested by your mail regarding Axure within SAP. Our trial period ends in 3 days, I don’t know if even if we’re using at 100% Fiori stencils if we’ll be asked or not to enter a license key to continue to use this tool.
Thanks in advance for your help 🙂
We’ll start prototyping soon and since Powerpoint is no longer supported I’m also interested to know if we need additional licenses when starting to use Axure (we don’t use it yet in our company) for creating SAP UI5 screen mockups/prototyping.
Everyone interested in purchasing Axure, please have a look at their website: http://www.axure.com/buy . As you can see, Axure offers discounts for volume licenses. If you have questions about licensing Axure, please contact the Axure support. Thank you 🙂
@Pierre-Eric, my colleague will contact you.
If there come up more questions regarding Axure within SAP, please contact me directly. Thank you!
Thank you, I’ll wait for your colleague’s answer 🙂
Sorry, I haven’t your mail address to contact you directly. Just to warn you that I haven’t been contacted by your colleague in the last 2 weeks.
Thanks in advance to relay the message 🙂
My Axure does not work anymore even though I am only using SAP Fiori Stencils. May I ask why in the post it says Axure can be used without cost when only using the SAP Fiori stencils and this does not seem to be true?
If false information was posted it would be good to at least correct the post?
So one concrete question: Do we need to buy an Axure license to develop SAP Fiori mock-ups or not?
Thanks a lot
the disclaimer of the SAP Fiori Design Stencils might help here:
SAP grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, license to use the SAP Fiori Design Stencils (“Stencils”) for Axure solely for the purpose of developing prototypes of SAP Fiori applications using Axure RP (www.axure.com) and demonstrating those prototypes to third parties. This license expires one year from the date that you download or receive the Stencils from SAP. The Stencils are provided “AS-IS”, without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. The Stencils are mockups that do not represent the exact visual design that you can achieve with SAP Fiori. In no event is SAP liable in respect of any use of the Stencils, Axure RP or any prototypes developed based on the Stencils. SAP does not grant you any rights to Axure RP. Your use of Axure RP is subject to the terms of your separate License Agreement with Axure Software Solutions, Inc.”
Does this answer your question?
Thank you for the extensive answer to my question. Yes, the question is answered.
So now we have to purchase the Axure software for the sole purpose of making SAP Fiori mock-ups.
I consider this a step back because Axure is a very versatile and more complex software to use then Power Point (which also has it’s limitations).
None the less … it is what it is.
Thanks for your time and interest in my questions.
Is there a new link to download the axure libraries? (https://experience.sap.com/fiori-design/resources/downloads)
the download was not shown due to a technical problem and is now back on the link you mentioned.
Sorry for any inconvenience caused by this.
Thank you! That’s very helpful.
There is a common misunderstanding. We also thought that we could use Fiori stencils with a yearly renewed free license.
If you want to use the Axure RP Software, you need to buy a license under https://www.axure.com/buy.
As soon as you have the software, you can use the Fiori Design Axure Stencils provided by SAP. Please note, downloading the Fiori Design Axure Stencils cannot grant you a free license for the Axure RP Software.
I hope that helps.
