According to the Fiori guides, the order of the buttons in the footer bar of the dialogs is, on the left the OK (or another standard action) and on the right the CANCEL/CLOSE. I would like to know if this is due to some UX study or is an arbitrary decision. Thank you!

Hi Alba,

The reason for this order is stated in the guideline for the footer toolbar:

“The buttons are sorted from frequently-used to seldom-used. This ensures that the most important buttons will go into the overflow last.”

I’m pretty sure there was a study at some point. That rule was done before I started. I’ll try to confirm the study.

All the best,

Till
