Hi experts,

We are going through the technical landscape documentation of SAP CoPilot – Technical System Landscape.

Here it is mentioned under the Frontend section that SAP CoPilot runs on any SAP Fiori Launchpad, such as on-premise ABAP server. For this specific scenario in the technical system landscape diagram under the On Premise section it says Target Mappings and other configuration are required to be done on the on-premise system. Where can we find more details of exactly what these configurations are that need to be performed?

Hi Saurabh,

SAP CoPilot is currently only available for the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Edition, as stated in the SAP CoPilot Feature Scope Description, and this integration comes fully configured and ready for use.

The technical system landscape includes an overview how other deployment options would be integrated once CoPilot becomes available for them. At that time, a detailed configuration guide would be provided.

Regards,

Matthias

Hi,

Is there any S/4 Cloud trial version where I can test or try these apps. As the s/4 cloud version I have subscribed is not having any such app to test. Am I missing something or do I need to subscribe to new version s/4 system.

Hello Team

We would like to know if SAP CoPilot is available for S/4 1709 FP01 on premise edition.

I do see that the CoPilot is mentioned in the product guide. Could you please confirm as we are not able to find any configuration document/KBA for the same.

Regards

Basu Sharma

Hi Basu,

SAP CoPilot is available for SAP S/4HANA on premise 1701 FP01. However, an additional license is required for this.

Please check the configuration guide on the SAP Help Portal, which includes information on the required components as well as the necessary steps to connect SAP Copilot to the S/4 backend system: https://help.sap.com/viewer/c7d829d2dff24c458f88fe7671e3ae8e/1805/en-US

Hello Mubasher,

There are multiple possibilities why SAP CoPilot is not yet accessible from your systems FLP.  Some questions :

  • Are you connecting to the FLP via the SAP Web Dispatcher ?
  • Have you configured the SAP Web Dispatcher to forward the /copilot requests to the SCP ?
  • Have you created the copilot role and added it to your user (trasnactions PFCG & SU01)?

If all that is done, you can try to troubleshoot : open the FLP in a browser with tracing tools (eg. Chrome), open the developer tools (F12) and look for /copilot requests in the Network tab.  Do you find these and what is the HTTP response code ?

Hi Hannes,

Thanks for your reply.

We don’t even see the digital assistant from the FLP?

Do we need to install any new add on for that?

We also don’t have a web dispatcher in our system landscape, since we are only using it in an internal company network.

Hi Mubasher,

The SAP Web Dispatcher (WD) is an essential component for SAP CoPilot on S/4HANA On-Premise, see SAP CoPilot Component Overview documentation.
All SAP CoPilot resources are loaded from the SCP, the WD is used to route the /copilot calls to the SCP and also for authentication.

You can find some installation instructions for the WD here : Web Dispatcher Installation Wiki Page .
After installation you will need to adjust also the WD configuration and register it as a proxy in SCP, this is described in this section.

Hi Hannes,

thanks a lot for your quick response.

We will check with our Infrastructure team on this.

But can you also confirm if we also need to install the add on  ‘SAP COPILOT OD 1.0’ in our S/4 HANA 1709 On-Premise system as well?

again thanks for your input.

Hi Mubasher,

You need S/4HANA 1709 FPS1 backend system, and an SCP account with the CoPilot service activated.  You do not need to install an additional add-on.

Note that the 1809 edition comes with some standard skills for CoPilot, with 1709 you can build your own skills.

Regards, Hannes
