What happens during a usability test?

Understanding your needs and the way you work, helps ensure that we build software that is right for your business. During these one-on-one 60 minute sessions you can usability test new and existing software and give your feedback directly to the product teams that build them. It’s a great opportunity to work directly with SAP to help shape the future of SAP products. We are testing our screens…not you, and there is no preparation that you will need in advance of your session. You will simply log into your appointment and the Development Team will provide you with a series of tasks to complete to see what steps you take to complete them. Can you find the buttons, does the terminology make sense, is this what you would use to complete your work, etc. then all your feedback is consolidated and any changes and updates are rolled into the product before the next release date.

How many sessions can I sign up for?

We ask that you limit yourself to one session to allow other attendees the chance to participate. If product teams need additional information from you in order to qualify your registration for their topic, they will contact you within one business day of the date of your registration. You will also receive your meeting request to attend the onsite or virtual session after your NDA is signed, so please make sure that when you register your email address is correct and that you check your spam/junk folder if you do not see a reply.

What about the times I see, how do they align with times onsite?

The times we are testing onsite in Houston Texas will be in CST (Central Standard Time), but you will see the timezones based on where your browser is. So when choosing a time, please make sure to check what time that is in Houston, Texas so that you pick a time that will work with your calendar onsite. You will be able to block out your agenda in the SAP Concur Fusion agenda builder with generic usability testing blockers in the event app. Once you register here, you will get an add to your outlook calendar. What happens if a session I want to attend is already full?

We understand that not being able to get into a session is disappointing but we are limited to a set number of sessions per day and these sessions do fill up quickly. If there is a time that works best for your schedule onsite at SAP Concur Fusion, we suggest you stop by the SAP Usability Testcenter registration desk located outside Grand Ballroom C at the George R. Brown Convention Center 5 minutes before that session is set to begin to let us know that you are interested in that session if a spot opens up. If the registered attendee fails to make their appointment, at that time we will swap in alternate participants on a first come basis. Also you can check back on this registration page from time to time as sometimes travel plans change and attendees may cancel their testing sessions leading up to the event.

Topic 1: CX Invoice Evolution-Transforming SAP Concur Invoice Together

Be one of the first to experience the progress of the new UI for the Concur Invoice solution. Using a test prototype, you will create and edit an invoice in the new UI and complete specific tasks. Your feedback will be used to validate designs and highlight areas where optimization is needed.

Description Here’s an opportunity for accounts payable (AP) users as well as anyone who has created an invoice before in an automation in Concur Invoice to come check out the new UI and experience what is coming soon. Participants of this topic will share their past experience with Concur Invoice processing as they navigate through specific tasks related to creating an invoice.

Preview exciting user experience updates to the SAP Concur mobile app and take this opportunity to provide feedback that influences future development. 

Description You will have a chance to test out and provide usability feedback on many planned enhancements to the SAP Concur mobile app, including a new intelligent home screen that exposes contextual and personalized content.
Role/s  Frequent and infrequent users of the SAP Concur mobile app for travel, expense, or request, or those that use the app on behalf of others
Previous Experience  Anyone who has used the SAP Concur mobile app on their iPhone, iPad, or Android phone or wishes to do so in the future
Preview During this usability study, you’ll perform a hands-on evaluation of planned enhancements to the SAP Concur mobile app, while candidly expressing your experience and opinions as you preview a new home screen, user experience changes to Concur Expense, and much more.

Background Information  As part of the mobile evolution of SAP Concur solutions, we aim bring an all-new harmonized user experience to the app, with improved mobile navigation and simplified actions for all users.

Starting with the home screen, you can be one of the first to experience its transformation into a modern, intelligent, and intuitive launchpad in the SAP Concur mobile app. By leveraging the SAP Fiori design language, we aim to provide an enhanced user experience for all, regardless of how they choose to access SAP Concur solutions on their mobile device.

Topic 3: SAP Concur Expense-Attendees

Preview exciting user experience updates to the attendees feature in the desktop app and take this opportunity to provide feedback that influences future development. 

Description You will have a chance to test and provide usability feedback for one of the most used areas in the expense report – the attendees feature – including an improved search function and an intuitive design.
Role/s  Frequent and infrequent users of SAP Concur solutions who have experience submitting expense reports using the NextGen UI in Concur Expense or searching and adding attendees

Industry sectors such as finance and pharmaceuticals with complex requirements are welcomed

Previous Experience  Anyone who has used the attendees feature in Concur Expense
Preview During this usability study, you’ll perform a hands-on evaluation of planned enhancements to the Concur Expense solution, while candidly expressing your experience and opinions as you preview a new search function and design of the attendees feature. Your feedback helps improve critical mobile workflows for you and others who use Concur Expense.
Background Information  NextGen UI is the new UI that SAP Concur has built. Attendees is one of the most critical features, as one-third of expense reports have them.

As part of our improvements to the new UI, we aim to bring an improved user experience to the attendees feature, with simplified search function that meets industry requirements and is intuitive and delightful to use.

Topic 4: SAP Concur Expense-Expense Report Workflow Optimization

Come test and provide feedback on planned improvements to the Concur Expense solution’s Web UI to make creating expense entries faster and more intuitive.

Description Creating an expense report can be difficult and time-consuming, but it doesn’t have to be. We’re working on new capabilities for Concur Expense that aim to make the experience faster, simpler, and more intuitive.

During this session, you will have the opportunity to test and provide feedback on planned improvements to the expense entry creation workflow, including capabilities for ExpenseIt on the Web and a redesign to the “Manage Expenses” page.

Role/s  Users who have experience creating expense reports that require receipt images to be uploaded or e-mailed to Concur Expense, and then attaching those images to expense entries.
Previous Experience  Experience creating expense entries and submitting reports on the Web UI for Concur Expense is a must. Experience with both the Web UI and mobile app is preferred.
Preview This usability study will focus on design options and enhancements for future releases of the Web UI for Concur Expense related to the organization of the “Manage Expenses” landing page and workflow for creating new expense entries, including the addition of ExpenseIt capabilities on the Web.

Your feedback during this session will help us refine and improve the experience.

Background Information  We have exciting new features planned for Concur Expense that aim to simplify and reduce time spent creating expense reports.

With optimizations to the expense entry and report creation workflows that take advantage of these new capabilities, creating an expense report will be easier than ever before.

Topic 5: SAP Concur Travel-Air Search and Book Prototype

Help shape the air search and booking experience by participating in a prototype usability study for business travelers and travel arrangers. Your honest feedback helps us build the best experience for all business travelers. 

Description In this session, you’ll get an advanced look at proposed designs and interactions for air search and booking and have the opportunity to give your candid feedback where it will make the most impact. We are making some exciting changes to the air search and booking display, so you won’t want to miss this opportunity.
Role/s  Infrequent and frequent business travelers or those who arrange air travel on behalf of others
Previous Experience  Anyone who has booked air reservations for business travel in the last three years or anyone who has ever regretted their travel choices when they got to the airport
Preview In this session, you’ll perform several air search and booking tasks using a prototype while you candidly express your thoughts on the information provided and workflow. We want to hear how you personally decide on the right itinerary and product for you or your traveler as well as how you feel about the process.
Background Information  Our goal is to provide a modern, user-friendly booking experience for air travel that meets your needs as a business traveler or arranger. Your honest feedback as a business traveler or arranger helps us understand how to make air travel booking on Concur Travel a better experience.

Topic 6: SAP Concur Travel-An optimized experience for Hotel and Car

Get a first look at the upgraded shopping and booking experience for corporate travelers when making hotel or car reservations.

Description Business travelers want intuitive and straightforward shopping when searching for a hotel or car that meets their business travel needs.  Be one of the first to experience SAP Concur’s new and intuitive comprehensive solution for hotel and car.

Hotel and car shopping provides dynamic search capabilities, more options for sourcing content, and richer rate content and highlights 21st-century traveler considerations such as sustainability and accessibility.

Role/s  Anyone who has booked hotel and/or car reservations for business travel in the last six months
Previous Experience  The ideal candidates should have experience making hotel and/or car reservations for business travel.
Preview During this usability study, you’ll perform a hands-on, end-to-end evaluation of the new hotel and car user experience while candidly expressing your opinions as you navigate through each screen.

Background Information  As part of the evolution of Concur Travel, we aim to streamline and simplify the user experience across all verticals – hotel, car, air, and rail. The new functionality brought to car and hotel allows business travelers to quickly and easily find the property or car rental that is best suited to their needs at the right price.

As the travel industry rapidly evolves, travel policy administration should be flexible and extendible to new data points. Participants of this topic will share their travel management expertise as they navigate the new tool to configure new or existing travel settings.
Role/s  Travel program managers with primary responsibility of managing corporate travel programs

Site administrators for travel management companies with primary responsibility of managing corporate travel programs

Specific responsibilities include the creation and maintenance of:

  • Travel configuration settings and

Previous Experience  If you access the company admin, user admin, or travel administration functionality within the Concur Travel solution on a regular basis to manage one or more corporate travel programs, we’d like to invite you to the travel management configuration tools usability study.
Preview Bring your travel admin expertise to shape the direction of corporate travel management configuration settings. During this usability session, you’ll evaluate the new travel management configuration settings while they are still being developed.

You’ll be asked to perform various configuration settings and form-of-payment tasks while you voice your opinion on how well the tool supports your needs as a travel administrator.

Background Information  Concur Travel’s new travel management configuration provides a simpler administrator experience. The optimized navigation and logical layout promote consistency and reduce maintenance efforts.  New functionality offers administrators a way to logically organize travel configuration settings to reflect their business structure. Travel administrators can identify configuration setting values to apply globally and have the ability to override those settings for specific groups of travelers when customization is desired.
