Intro

SAP Conversational UX (SAP CUX) is one of the design languages of the SAP Fiori Design System. It’s a framework that includes building blocks for designing enterprise conversational products, such as digital assistants and chatbots.

Consumer and Business Conversations

Instead of “simpler” conversations a consumer may have with Siri or Alexa, a conversation between a business user and an enterprise system is more complex. SAP CUX design language focuses on enabling business users to converse with an enterprise system to accomplish their tasks, therefore shortening business processes and workflow when it makes sense.

A conversation between a consumer and a non-enterprise digital assistant may look like this:

“What’s the weather today?”

“Currently in San Jose, it’s 55 degrees Fahrenheit.”

“Play songs by Frank Sinatra.”

“Sure thing. Now playing ‘Summer Wind’…”

A conversation between a business user and an enterprise digital assistant is more complex:

“What is the average click-through rate of my email campaigns for last month?”

“In January, your email campaigns had an average click through rate of 4.5%.”

“When is the end date of XYZ campaign?”

XYZ campaign ends on Feb 28, 2019.”
