What’s New in Guideline Version 1.98

Intro

This article provides an overview of the updates to the SAP Fiori web design guidelines with guideline version 1.98.

SAP Fiori Elements Framework Overview Both versions of SAP Fiori elements now support the SAP Fiori launchpad feature sap-keep-alive-mode, which:

  • Ensures the app page is restored to the same state it was in when the user left it, including scroll position and table selection
  • Improves the performance of the page reload after back navigation

Object Page — Content Area For improved performance on application startup, SAP Fiori elements for OData V4 lets you prevent form fields with low importance from loading. The user can opt to load them by clicking Show Details. Object Page — Content Area

 
Table Toolbar A custom create action lets users now create an object via a dialog with a reference to another object of the same type with SAP Fiori elements for OData V4. Table Toolbar
Table Features Now, with SAP Fiori elements for OData V2, when the selection of multiple rows is enabled:

  • The Clear All   checkbox is enabled by default for:
    • Grid tables, analytical tables and tree tables in both list reports and object pages
    • Responsive tables in a list report
  • The Select All  checkbox is enabled by default for a responsive table in an object page

Now, with SAP Fiori elements for OData V4, when the selection of multiple rows is enabled:

  • The Clear All   checkbox is enabled by default for all tables, except a responsive table in an object page with anchor bar mode
  • The Select All  checkbox is enabled by default for a responsive table in an object page

You can change the default.

With SAP Fiori elements for OData V4, in a responsive table, when a column contains a field group with more than one field, you can enable the display of a label for each field. The field group label is displayed as the column title in the header.

About Guideline Updates

With each new guideline version, we deliver two types of update:

  • Updates to reflect new or changed UI controls available with SAPUI5.
  • Ongoing updates on how to best apply the SAP Fiori design (such as overarching concepts, floorplans, and additional decision support). These updates are introduced with a given guideline version, but are not necessarily dependent on a specific SAPUI5 version.

Note: Our policy is to update only the latest guideline version. If you are working with an earlier SAPUI5 release, also consider checking out the most recent guideline version to get the latest general guidance.
